Self-Adjusting Valve Catch

Valve life without an effective seating device can be measured in minutes. VVA systems that do not slow valves by their cams’ closing ramps must use an alternate retarding device, which is essential to reducing noise and preventing damage to valves or seats. Jacobs’ series of Self-Adjusting Valve Catches accomplishes this critical function. These hydraulic dampers, or shock absorbers, automatically adjust for lash resulting from initial assembly tolerances, wear and thermal length changes.

Variable Collapsing Element

This devise provides the hydraulic link between the cam and the valves creating control of varying valve events.

Rocker Arm

This modified version of stock rocker arm includes bias spring assembly — elevated for packaging purposes.

High Speed Trigger

The High Speed Trigger has been developed to be both high-flow and fast-acting to handle the response needs of today’s dynamic engine requirements. Designed for the life of the engine, it is the heart of the VVA system.

Accumulator

The accumulator is an oil storage device; a spring-loaded piston that enables the VVA system to respond instantly to changes in operating conditions.

Valve Control Unit

The Valve Control Unit (VCU) is designed to mount on your engine and respond to the ECM’s valve timing commands on a cycle-by-cycle basis. It utilizes SAE J1939 communications to gather data from sensors already on the engine. Designed by engine control experts, it is reliable, highly flexible and can be applied to your system.
