Hannover, Germany, September 23rd, 2004 -- Jacobs Vehicle Systems™, a wholly owned subsidiary of Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) and Iveco S.p.a. revealed a joint program to apply a Jacobs VVA system on a 3.0l Iveco Diesel engine that may see production as soon as 2008. Utilizing this VVA system demonstrates Iveco’s commitment to building upon their diesel engine technology leadership, improving overall combustion optimization, reducing emissions levels and improving reliability.
With the diesel engine industry undergoing unparalleled changes in emissions regulations, Jacobs has established themselves as valuable partners to meet these challenges. The VVA solution developed by Jacobs for Iveco demonstrates Jacobs ability to deliver commercially viable, industry leading technology solutions that go beyond the R&D Lab. “Working together, Iveco and Jacobs have proven that Variable Valve Actuation is out of the lab and ready for production application" said Bob Perkins, Vice President Marketing, Jacobs Vehicle Systems.
