Tokyo, Japan, March 5, 2004 -- Jacobs Vehicle Systems™ a wholly owned subsidiary of Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) was again recognized for their engine retarder and valve actuation system industry leadership by receiving the Award for Technology and Development 2003 from Hino Motors, Ltd. The award is for Jacob’s Vehicle Systems ability to utilize original and advanced technology in developing the worlds first multi functional engine retarder with an electronically controlled integrated internal EGR system.
With the diesel engine industry undergoing massive changes in order to meet increasing government emissions regulations, Jacobs Vehicle Systems has proven themselves as partners for this challenge. The electronically controlled integrated internal EGR solution developed by Jacobs Vehicle Systems and Hino Motors demonstrates Jacobs Vehicle Systems ability to deliver industry leading technology solutions that are commercially viable, greatly contributing to the improvement of Hino’s vehicle marketability.
