Jacobs Vehicle Systems™ Names Gary A. Masse, President
BLOOMFIELD, Conn., October 11, 1999 -- Jacobs Vehicle Systems™ (www.jakebrake.com--a wholly-owned subsidiary of Danaher Corporation – NYSE: DHR) today named Gary Masse as President, reporting to Danaher group executive H. Lawrence Culp, Jr.
Masse replaces William J. Butler, who will now be leading Danaher's newly-organized instrument and control group, Danaher Electrical Products, in Simsbury, CT. Masse will be responsible for all business operations of Jacobs Vehicle Systems, including manufacturing in the U.S. and Mexico.
In his most recent position as Vice President and General Manager of the Cummins and DAF Business Teams at Jacobs, Masse was instrumental in achieving record volume sales levels by providing superior customer satisfaction through continuous improvements in quality, delivery and cost. His leadership in new product development, for both North American and European customers, has helped establish the base for continued future growth with these key customers.
Previously, Masse was Vice President of Manufacturing at Jacobs Vehicle Systems since 1997. Masse also spent eleven years at General Electric in Manufacturing Management. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford.
