PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BLOOMFIELD, Conn., July 8, 2003 -- Jacobs Vehicle Systems™ (www.jakebrake.com--a wholly-owned subsidiary of Danaher Corporation - NYSE: DHR) today announces the appointment of Scott W. Wine as President, Jacobs Vehicle Systems by Phil Knisely, Executive Vice President, Danaher Corporation. Scott succeeds Brian Burnett who was recently appointed President at Veeder-Root, a Danaher Corporation Company.

Scott joined Danaher in April as Vice President and General Manager, Manufacturing Programs, and has completed an extensive orientation process to get to know Danaher and Danaher Business System processes and tools.

Prior to Danaher, Scott spent seven years with Honeywell Aerospace, where he was most recently Vice President, European Engine Services in Raunheim, Germany. In this role, Scott and his team supported European, Middle East and African aerospace customers with aircraft engine and component repair and overhaul, manufacturing, logistics and engineering services. His experience leading and managing operational excellence through the use of Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise tools will be an asset to the JVS team. Earlier in his career, Scott was a Product Line Leader and General Manager with Allied Signal Aerospace, where he had general management responsibilities for aerospace repair and overhaul businesses in Phoenix, AZ and Greer, SC. Prior to moving into private industry, Scott served as a Supply Officer in the United States Navy for seven years.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1989 and his MBA, with a concentration in Finance, at the University of Maryland in 1995. Scott, along with his wife and son, relocated to Connecticut from Germany earlier this month.
